My newest fascination: Amazon Dash Buttons

If anything stresses me out in life, it is going to the grocery store. I love food and having a stocked kitchen, but the idea of wandering through the aisles in search of life's necessities really makes me uneasy.

Introducing Amazon Dash Buttons.

Explanation from Amazon.com: "Amazon Dash Button is a Wi-Fi connected device that reorders your favorite item with the press of a button. To use Dash Button, simply download the Amazon App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Then, sign into your Amazon Prime account, connect Dash Button to Wi-Fi, and select the product you want to reorder. Once connected, a single press on Dash Button automatically places your order. Amazon will send an order confirmation to your phone, so it's easy to cancel if you change your mind. Also, the Dash Button Order Protection doesn't allow a new order to be placed until the prior order ships, unless you allow multiple orders."

Amazon Dash Buttons are the way of the future. In a few years from now, I may never have to enter a grocery store again! Just think: as you are doing your laundry, you realize you are almost out of detergent. But wait, with the push of a button you can have more detergent being sent to your door! Instantly! What's more convenient than that?

This is probably the most innovative marketing tool we have seen from Amazon in recent years. By implementing the Amazon Dash Button, they are attracting an audience of busy moms, lazy college students and anyone who values preparedness.

Amazon is vastly expanding their audience with this product. Not everyone purchases their household necessities from Amazon, but if they are able to use a service like this, they may decide to move their business from the local Kroger to the online-Amazon-sphere.

The companies that have partnered with Amazon in this endeavor are limited, but as the Amazon Dash Button becomes more popular, it will be essential for companies to partner with the online shopping giant in order to still be relevant. The customer base will demand it.

I look forward to Amazon expanding this venture by incorporating more food products, not just household needs. But I fully trust Amazon to make this concept useful for everyone!
