HELLO, I'M DOROTHY
I am a Virginia Tech Hokie, a lover of organization, queen of notebooks and a builder of relationships.
I am in a constant state of edit and am proud to always be trying to better myself.

My Work Story
During my time at Virginia Tech, I have learned a lot about public relations, marketing and sales, but I also a lot about myself. I learned that I love people: engaging them, communicating to them and understanding them. Through internships in industries that at first seemed foreign to me, I learned how to understand concepts and effectively communicate them to the public.
It was while working for The Health Wagon non-profit that I truly discovered my passion for success. I was chosen as the leader of six selected students completing a PR internship with The Health Wagon. My team was the sole PR force for the nationally recognized non-profit, previously featured on CBS 60 Minutes. I challenged my team to achieve our goals while encouraging a high standard of work.
As an undergrad student, I also completed internships with New River Valley Bridals & Events as a lead campaign coordinator for the campaign Virginia is for Weddings where I led, planned and executed a summer-long campaign for the organization and mission. I also worked as a Public Affairs intern with A. Morton Thomas, a consultant civil engineering firm in Richmond, working closely with the Virginia Department of Transportation.
I am now a part of Virginia Tech Baja, (an engineering senior design team working to construct a single-seat off-road vehicle), as a PR and marketing team member. I am working to raise over $30,000 for the team to build the vehicle and finance competition fees and also promote the team as they compete in two sanctioned competitions in Kentucky and Tennessee.
